Refund Policy
Draft pending legal review, and pending item 16 (Paddle billing) actually shipping. This is the policy we intend to run once paid plans go live — publishing it now, before a single card is charged, is deliberate: Paddle's seller review requires a published refund policy before it will approve billing at all. Nothing described below is active yet. See /terms for the current, honest statement that Ledgerpost processes no payments today.
The policy
- First payment on a subscription: refundable in full for 14 days, no questions asked.
- Renewal charges: refundable within 7 days if you didn't mean to renew. This is cheaper for everyone than a chargeback, and we'd rather just give it back.
- Lifetime purchases (a possible future one-time "founder" offer): a longer window, 30 days, since a one-time purchase deserves more room to change your mind than a monthly charge does.
- No pro-rata refund for cancelling mid-period. If you cancel partway through a billing period, your access continues until the period you already paid for ends — we don't refund the unused days, and we don't cut access off early either.
- How to ask: email ledger.post@outlook.com. We aim to respond, and to actually process the refund, within 2 business days.
If you're in the EU or another jurisdiction with statutory withdrawal or refund rights, this policy doesn't reduce them. Whatever the law where you live guarantees you, you keep — this policy is a floor we're choosing to go beyond, not a ceiling on what you're owed.
Where the money goes
Once billing exists, purchases will be processed by Paddle.com Market Limited, acting as merchant of record — meaning Paddle, not Ledgerpost, is legally the seller, handles VAT and sales tax everywhere it's owed, and issues the receipt. That also means the charge on your card statement will show a Paddle descriptor, not "Ledgerpost" — [exact statement descriptor string — pending confirmation once item 16 ships]. If a charge looks unfamiliar, check for "Paddle" before assuming it's fraudulent.
If you subscribed through the iOS app
This is a conditional note for a path that doesn't exist yet (see items 41–45 — the iOS app isn't built). If Ledgerpost ever sells subscriptions through Apple's in-app purchase system instead of directly, the rules above don't apply to that purchase: Apple handles the refund, and you request it through Apple, not us. Cancellation for an App Store subscription happens in iOS Settings, not in Ledgerpost. We'll update this section — and make sure the app itself points you to the right place — before that path ships, not after.
